White Hotel Sheets

There’s a reason almost every good hotel dresses its beds in white. Nothing else looks as clean, as calm or as freshly made. White goes with any headboard, curtain or wall colour, and it tells anyone walking in that the bed has been properly changed.

The worry most people have about white is yellowing. That usually comes from sweat, body oils and detergent left in the cloth, not from the sheet itself. Wash whites on their own, use a little less detergent than you think you need, and add a splash of white vinegar to the rinse. Skip chlorine bleach, which weakens cotton over time. A few hours of morning sun on the line helps keep them bright too.
White is also the simplest choice for guest houses and rentals, because a replacement sheet always matches the rest.
